Candy Pratts Price's 45!!! Most Desirable Accessories by Vogue

When it comes to picking up a few new accessories for the fall season, I’m a big believer in pieces that work as collectibles, but—and this is an important but—they should also pull double duty and be just as good off the body as on. Take Aurélie Biedermann’s wheat husk necklace. Or Givenchy’s classic pump with a sliver of gold around the ankle—it’s museum-worthy. From bags to bracelets and wedges to Wellies, the options are endless (as is how to wear them). Look at the clutch, for example. We already know that how you carry it reveals something about your inner psyche;  now peruse our top picks from Valextra to Nancy Gonzalez (we’re loving python right now). Feeling a shoe? Alexander Wang is the go-to rock-'n’-roll designer who taps into our sexy side. Then, there is classicism of Tod’s, the modernism of Calvin Klein, the timelessness of Bottega Veneta (for when your own initials are enough), and the iconic feel of Roger Vivier’s sandal (it’s a velvet and satin combo—need we say more?). Perhaps Jason Wu followed fall’s call for versatility to a T—not only has he mastered the art of making the perfect dress (for the First Lady, no less), but now he’s newly fascinated with creating the right pump. These pieces are all such statement makers that they’re inevitably the beginning of A Look. Click through the slideshow for my sound bites on the season—and don't forget, fall is all about an accessory.
